LETTER FROM principal

Dear students,

“Our mission in this new century is clear. For good or ill, we live in an interdependent world. We can't escape each other. Therefore, we have to spend our lives building a global community of shared responsibilities, shared values and shared benefits. We believe that equity and inclusion are the cornerstones of a TRUE DEMOCRACY in which the worth and dignity of every person is valued.”

It gives me immense delight to invite you to the thirteenth edition of DiPS Model United Nations, 2025, where the focus is on clarity and deliberation on global issues. When the youth of a country are empowered, it facilitates the ability to make informed decisions and catalyzes a nation’s progress, development and peace. Model United Nations is an educational simulation of the United Nations wherein students who participate will embark upon a life – changing journey that will help them develop confidence in leading others, become aware of global issues, engage in discourse with peers and draft policies to make the world a better one! It all starts here – with a dream to make a difference!!

Dear children, the power you hold is enormous; you are the change makers. The role of an international delegate necessitates a deep understanding of the United Nations as an organization and its functionality in making our world a better place. At DPS Bangalore South, we strive to foster this knowledge and also endeavor to facilitate transversal skills like perceptive thinking, team work, diplomacy, complex problem solving and effective communication.

Yours sincerely,

Anitha Bijesh

LETTER FROM secRetary general

Dear Delegates,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the 13th edition of DiPSMUN, hosted by Delhi Public School, Bangalore – South. As someone who has been deeply connected to this institution and conference over the years, I can confidently say that DiPSMUN has consistently served as a space for learning, collaboration, and self-discovery. It has shaped my worldview and continues to inspire me, and I hope that for each of you, this experience becomes just as meaningful and transformative. We are living in a moment of global uncertainty and tension. Conflicts rage across continents, international law is bent to serve selective interests, and institutions that were once seen as the bedrock of peace and diplomacy now find themselves entangled in political gamesmanship.

The United Nations, while founded on ideals of neutrality and cooperation, is increasingly weaponized to justify actions that would otherwise be deemed unacceptable. This erosion of trust and accountability presents a serious challenge not only to governments but to us—the next generation of leaders and changemakers.

In this backdrop, engaging in a Model United Nations may seem symbolic or even insufficient. But if history has taught us anything, it is that young voices, when informed and united, are immensely powerful. From civil rights to climate justice, student-led movements have time and again disrupted the status quo and forced change. While DiPSMUN is not a protest march or a policy summit, it is a training ground for critical thought, for listening deeply, speaking responsibly, and imagining a better world.

The agendas at DiPSMUN 2025 have been carefully curated to reflect issues that matter—not only to states and institutions, but to individuals and communities. These topics will challenge you to think critically, argue persuasively, and empathize genuinely—especially with perspectives that may differ from your own.

I eagerly look forward to welcoming you from July 2–4, 2025, at Delhi Public School Bangalore – South, as we come together to deliberate, question, and explore what it truly means to be a global citizen today.

Warm regards,
Mayank Agarwal
